Nancy O'Dell began her broadcast career as a reporter and anchor at WPDE-TV which was located in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. O'Dell later became morning news anchor on WCBD TV and also as the crime reporter. The articles written by O'Dell in Charleston concerning how Charleston police handled DUI cases in a manner that was lenient, caused an investigation by State Law Enforcement Division.
